See the Theatre! It is a platform for the development of scenic creation for family audiences and early childhood. With these two lines of action that they have been promoting for 20 years, this October they celebrate the anniversary with two important milestones. On the one hand, the premiere of a new rehearsal room at the Barcelona headquarters, in the Sants neighborhood, named Espai de Creació. On the other hand, the creation of a new aid scholarship.

Gisela Juanet, who is the project director of Viu el Teatre!, began this adventure twenty years ago with her father, Lluís Juanet, who was the one who inoculated her with the poison of theater. Today, with Lluís Juanet practically retired, her daughter has taken the reins of this platform and, thanks to Next Generation European funds, they have been able to undertake the works to prepare a rehearsal room that is available to companies that require it. .

Its objective is to continue producing shows, such as El petit Dalí, “which continues to be programmed at the end of the year”, declares Gisela Juanet, or Alicia al país dels mobilos, the result of collaboration with playwright Marta Butxaca.

Coinciding with the 20th anniversary, the first call for applications for the new Mans Scholarship has also been opened, which “is aimed at companies, groups and professionals of the performing arts with a theater project to develop aimed at children and/or all public”.

The scholarship includes artistic residencies, technical and administrative advice, recruitment promotion and direct aid of 7,000 euros, in addition to professional support for two years.

The celebration of these first twenty years was summed up in a phrase that expresses the wish of the Viu el Teatre! platform: “That the performing arts are present in people’s lives.”

Happy Birthday!
