The emotional moment when a rescued sheep is welcomed by its new flock

Nicole, a recently rescued sheep, has started a new life at the Woodstock Animal Sanctuary after being saved from a fatal fate. Nicole’s arrival at the center has been captured in an emotional video that shows her first day, similar to that of a new student at school.

Being unloaded from the transport van, Nicole jumped out of the vehicle and although she seemed nervous at first as she watched the other sheep in the distance, it wasn’t long before the rest of the flock ran towards her with a warm welcome.

Nicole’s story is moving and highlights the difficult circumstances of her past. As the sanctuary has explained, “before being rescued, Nicole was bred repeatedly and never had offspring.” This was due to problems with her udder that prevented her from suckling the calves, a situation that the farm never attempted to remedy, leading to repeated abortions until Nicole was no longer profitable to her owners.

Recently, Nicole had calved just two days before being rescued, and was facing the possibility of being euthanized after her calves again failed to survive. “Fortunately, we were able to take her in and now her quarantine period is over,” the sanctuary announced. This rescue has not only saved Nicole from a tragic end, but has also given her the opportunity to live a life of peace, love and security.

The video has moved many viewers and has generated highly emotional reactions among both sanctuary staff and social media users. “The way everyone went to greet her, my God,” one person exclaimed in the comments section, while another commenter joked: “They have me crying over a damn sheep named Nicole on a Monday afternoon.” A third user expressed: “Why am I crying over a sheep? The way they all run towards it like ‘you’re safe here, we love you’.”
