Unlike cats, dogs are super dependent on their owners. Adopting a pet requires time, expenses and other responsibilities such as feeding, walks, games, spaces for rest and consultations with the veterinarian, among others.

In return, pets offer affection, love, companionship and loyalty. However, some attitudes can make them uneasy and even angry, so it is advisable to avoid them.

1) Hugs: for people, kisses and hugs are gestures that show affection and love, but in dogs it is different. It is important to observe the dog’s behavior when receiving a hug, paying attention to attitudes such as a rigid posture, retracted ears and an expression that denotes tension.

2) Stroking or stretching their whiskers: This gesture that may seem harmless greatly blocks their senses and mobility. Additionally, their stress levels skyrocket and they can become aggressive.

3) Leave them alone for a long time:  Dogs are family animals, they need company to feel happy. In many homes, pets spend hours alone because the owners work or study. This loneliness saddens the dog, since there is nothing they like more than spending time with their favorite human.

4) Loud Noises – Dogs hate screaming and loud noises. The hair dryer, the vacuum cleaner, the firecrackers can affect the sense of hearing, which is highly developed. Their perception of vibrations is much more sensitive than that of humans.

5) The walk is too short: walking is one of dogs’ favorite activities; They can sniff the environment and see other animals. Although one may be very tired from the whole day, they need to walk in relaxing conditions. It is also not advisable to walk them with a tight leash, because it transmits stress and nervousness to them. On the other hand, a loose leash means calm.

7) Bad mood: Dogs notice their owners’ emotions, so if one is tense or angry, the pet will sense it. It is common for the dog to act as a mirror and feel the same as his human. So, for the health of both, it is key to keep a good face when interacting with them.
