San Diego Comic-Con Badge Sales Delayed Due to Technical Issues

San Diego Comic-Con has announced a delay in the open badge sale for 2025 due to technical issues with its ticketing portal. The registration process, which is usually a chaotic time for prospective attendees, faced even more challenges this year as fans reported difficulties securing a pass for the convention.

Many users took to social media to express their frustration with the ticket sales portal freezing up on their computers or kicking them out after waiting for extended periods in the waiting room. Some were able to complete a purchase but had not been charged yet, adding to the confusion.

According to Friends of Comic-Con blog, the technical issues began surfacing around 8 a.m. when the waiting room opened, leading to an error message indicating that the service was not available. As the queue progressed, more people started experiencing problems, prompting Comic-Con to halt the registration process around 9:30 a.m. due to a potentially larger issue than initially anticipated.

Comic-Con officials later confirmed the suspension of the badge sale for the day and assured attendees that a new sale date will be announced once more information is available. Despite the delay, no new details about the next open registration period have been disclosed on the convention’s website as of Monday afternoon.

In a statement to the press, a Comic-Con spokesperson expressed regret for the inconvenience caused by the technical difficulties and thanked attendees for their patience as they work to resolve the problems with their registration company. The spokesperson also mentioned that a new date for the badge sale will be set once they are confident in the portal’s functionality.

The upcoming San Diego Comic-Con event, scheduled for July 24 to July 27, 2025, is highly anticipated following the convention’s successful return to normalcy in 2024 after being impacted by the pandemic and Hollywood strikes. The convention is known for celebrity sightings, major announcements, and exclusive opportunities, making it a must-attend event for comics fans.

While the specific schedule for 2025 has not been released yet, it is expected to bring back the same excitement and activities as the previous year, barring any unforeseen disruptions in the industry. Fans can look forward to another thrilling and memorable experience at San Diego Comic-Con next summer.
