Churros are one of the traditional sweets of Spanish gastronomy. They are not too difficult to prepare. We only need flour, olive oil, water, sugar and a pinch of salt to get this crispy dough. That’s in their original version, because they can also take the shape of a stick, bows or curlers.

Then we find the most modern variants, always to the client’s liking. Sometimes churros can be filled, for example, with chocolate or coated with sugar, pastry cream or dulce de leche.

Churros are so delicious that they have crossed borders. In this case, it seems that McDonald’s Japan has thought that this sweet may be popular among Asian customers. Although the American giant has modified the recipe a little: they are filled with chocolate and no sugar on the outside.

According to the promotional image shared by Guillaume Huin, head of marketing for the American chain, these are small churros, which can almost be eaten in one bite. In each box, there are four delicious bites. They are filled with chocolate, which spills out as soon as you cut them in half.

It is what they have named Hitokuchi Churros, although there are some differences from the original recipe. The first, it does not seem that the dough is so soft, perhaps something is missing from the oil bath that is given in our country.

Sugar lovers, because there are users who ask for an extra when they indulge in this dessert, will also miss a good dose on the outside. These little churros don’t have a single gram.

Beyond the recipe, it seems that the idea has excited social media users. “I’m moving to Japan,” many say. “They look delicious,” comments another user. “If you could ask them to save them until July so I can try them, that would be great!” adds another.
