Oscar 2023: schedule and where to see the gala on live TV

Awards season continues. Today the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) of the United States will hold the 95th edition of the popular Oscar Awards, which will take place at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, in Los Angeles (California).

The event dedicated to the seventh art is one of the most anticipated of the year, and will feature presenter and comedian Jimmy Kimmel, known for his ABC program Jimmy Kimmel Live!, as master of ceremonies. Among the great promises of the night we find Everything at once everywhere, by Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, who opted for eleven golden statuettes becoming the great favourite.

Film projects nominated for various awards include Martin McDonagh’s Banshees of Inisherin and Edward Berger’s All Quiet Front, both with nine nominations; and Elvis, by Baz Luhrmann, with eight. Steven Spielberg’s The Fabelmans has seven nominations, while TÁR, starring Cate Blanchett, has six, as does Top Gun: Maverick.

The gala will feature performances by actress and singer Sofia Carson and composer Diane Warren, who will perform the nominated song ‘Applause’ from the film Tell It Like a Woman. Another of the most anticipated performances of the night will come from Rihanna, who after conquering the public with her Super Bowl halftime show will present ‘Lift Me Up’, another of the songs nominated for ‘Best Original Song’ by Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack.

The gala will begin at 5:00 p.m. local time in Los Angeles (in Spanish peninsular time 01:00 a.m. from Sunday 12 to Monday 13 March). Likewise, moviegoers in our country will be able to see the best finery of Hollywood stars on the red carpet that will begin around 11:00 p.m. The ceremony can be followed live and exclusively through the Estrenos 2 channel, available on the Movistar Plus platform.
