As part of its cycle dedicated to leading figures in gastronomy and restaurants who have set trends in Catalan cuisine, “Consell de savis”, La Boqueria will pay tribute next Monday to Josep Monje, from Via Veneto.

An outstanding figure in the sector, Monje began working as a waiter at the Via Veneto restaurant in Barcelona, ​​which he runs together with his son Josep Monje, the current manager.

We go back to 1967, the year this emblematic establishment opened its doors. Later he became the maitre d’, later the director and over the years he acquired shares from the different partners until he became the sole owner in 1978.
