Joan Miquel Oliver reviews his solo repertoire at the Barnasants Festival

Accompanied only by his guitar this time, Joan Miquel Oliver will kick off his solo tour this Saturday March 11 at the Barnasants festival. The leader of the Majorcan band Antònia Font, used to the big crowds, presents his latest work Live in my house to a small audience in the Casinet de Hostafrancs civic center (8 p.m.).

Joan Miquel Oliver (Sóller, 1974) is a composer, writer, singer and guitarist with a long and atypical career. Between Antònia Font and those he signs alone, he has accumulated close to twenty records in the last two decades.

Last year his band Antònia Font returned to the stage at Primavera Sound after a nine-year hiatus. It was also on a Barcelona stage, the Palau Sant Jordi, where they said a temporary goodbye to 15,000 of their fans.

His solo career, which began in 2005 with the publication of Surfists in slow motion, continues this year with an intimate tour in which he presents Live in my house, an album released at the end of last year.

Oliver describes Live in my house as a very intimate album where the songs are the common thread to communicate the extensive repertoire of his discography. The album is a kind of greatest hits of his solo career, with songs like Marès a radial, Final feliç or Rumba del temps.

The Majorcan tour will begin this Saturday March 11 at the aforementioned Barnasants music festival, an intimate and personal concert where the public will feel as if they were in Oliver’s house. Tickets are available on the Barnasants website.
