Polenta is a recipe of Italian origin, very simple to prepare and whose main ingredient is corn flour. It can be used as is, or to prepare pizza bases, croquettes… We suggest the basic recipe, but if you fancy it more crunchy, once ready you can bake it for a few minutes.
> 500 grams of corn flour.
> 1 tablespoon of butter.
> 2 liters of water.
> Salt to taste.
1. Pour the water into a large pot, and when it starts to boil add a tablespoon of salt. And start adding the flour little by little.
2. Reduce the heat to low and stir the flour with a wooden spoon for about 40 minutes. It is important not to stop stirring during cooking.
3. After the first 30 minutes, taste the mixture to adjust the salt and add a tablespoon of butter. Continue stirring for 10 more minutes.
4. After that time, you should have a dough like a ball that comes off the pot without any problem.
5. Pour the polenta onto a flat surface and let it cool.
6. When the polenta is warm, use it however you like.
