In memory of the animals that lost their lives in the tragic Campanar fire, an emotional floral altar has been improvised over the sculpture that adorns the Plaza de los Pinazo, in the middle of Calle Colón in Valencia.

This sculpture, created by artist Elena Negueroles Colomer and donated to the City Council in 2018, originally commemorates the cruelty of animal abandonment, but now also serves as a place to honor the animals killed in the disaster.

On Monday night, a large bouquet of red and white roses was placed alongside other floral decorations, along with a postcard that carried a moving message: “For all the little animals that died in the fire, millions of kisses to the ‘rainbow.'” “Always in our hearts. RIP.” This gesture symbolizes the deep respect and sadness that overwhelms the community at the loss of pets and animals trapped in the fire.

In addition to the floral altar in the Plaza de los Pinazo, flowers, stuffed animals and toys have also been placed in the park near the damaged building in Campanar in memory of the deceased pets. A written note states: “For all the deceased furry and pets, RIP.”

Ángela Molina, president of the Animalist Coordinator, has revealed that they have contacted the authorities to request an official report on the number of animals trapped in the fire and to ask that families be able to recover the bodies of their pets. In addition, they have urged authorities to develop emergency protocols for catastrophe situations involving animals, as established by law.

This act of remembrance and request for justice for deceased animals reflects the deep emotional bond that exists between people and their pets, as well as the importance of providing them with protection and consideration even in emergency situations such as the one that happened in the tragic Campanar fire. . The community hopes these actions will lead to greater awareness and preparedness to ensure the safety of the animals in the future.
