Human remains have been found near the apartment of a missing 21-year-old Texas college student named Caleb Harris. The police made this discovery after a Corpus Christi city worker noticed the remains in a 40-foot-deep well during routine maintenance. Caleb Harris, a student at Texas A&M University at Corpus Christi, disappeared on March 4 after going to pick up an Uber Eats order at around 3 a.m.

The police called for assistance from the city’s fire department to retrieve the remains from the well located inside a wastewater collection plant. Despite previous searches in the area after Caleb’s disappearance, the remains were only recently discovered. Detectives are now working to determine how the remains ended up in the well, as there were no obvious signs of homicide.

Due to the advanced state of decomposition, the medical examiner’s office was unable to identify the remains or determine a cause of death. The remains have been sent to the University of North Texas Center for Human Identification for DNA analysis. Caleb Harris, who is from New Braunfels, left to pick up his Uber Eats delivery but never returned. His roommate found the order outside their apartment the next day, with Caleb’s keys and wallet left inside.

A GoFundMe campaign has been set up for Caleb Harris, raising over $71,000 as of Wednesday morning. The family is hoping to bring Caleb home safely. Uber confirmed that the food delivery to Caleb was completed without incident, and the driver continued making deliveries afterward.

The situation remains a mystery, leaving Caleb’s family and authorities searching for answers. Caleb’s father, Randy Harris, expressed his confusion and concern over his son’s disappearance. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are working hard to piece together what happened to Caleb Harris.
