A search is currently underway at Yosemite National Park in California for two missing hikers who failed to return to their campground on Saturday. The hikers, identified as 63-year-old Miguel Delgado and 40-year-old Ana Rodarte, were last seen leaving Bridalveil Creek Campground around 10 a.m. on a day hike towards Ostrander Lake. They were expected to return within a few hours but have not been seen since.

Rangers described Delgado as a Hispanic male, 6 feet 1 inch tall, weighing 160 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a brown jacket with blue accents, an orange t-shirt, tan pants, and a backpack. Rodarte, on the other hand, is described as a Hispanic female, 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing 198 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a gray windbreaker jacket, green pants or jeans, and a blue ball cap.

The Bridalveil Creek Campground, located at an elevation of 7,200 feet, is surrounded by a forest of red fir and lodgepole pine, offering numerous hiking trails along Glacier Point Road. However, the area has no available services, making it essential for hikers to be well-prepared and informed before embarking on any trails.

In light of this incident, it highlights the importance of safety protocols and preparedness while hiking in national parks. It is crucial for hikers to inform others of their planned route, carry essential supplies such as food, water, navigation tools, and to be aware of their surroundings at all times.

If anyone has any information regarding the whereabouts of Miguel Delgado and Ana Rodarte, they are urged to contact the National Park Service at 888-653-0009 or by emailing nps_isb@nps.gov. Your assistance could help in locating these missing hikers and ensuring their safety. Stay tuned for updates on the search and rescue efforts at Yosemite National Park.
