If you’ve ever been lucky enough to cuddle a puppy, you’ll know that nothing compares to that feeling of cuteness. These small animals are the miniature version of adult dogs, and offer all their sweetness in a much smaller and more manageable format. Of course, this changes a little when we talk about large breed puppies, which even in their first months already promise to become giants full of love.

This has been illustrated by Maggie Matthews, an American who has a pair of Saint Bernards. This young woman has uploaded a TikTok in which she shows the size of her dog, an adorable ball of fur who, at only three months old, can already sense the impressive size that she will reach as an adult.

The young American shows how, at this young age, her puppy already weighs about 23 kilograms, a weight notably higher than that of an adult medium-breed dog and, certainly, much more than the sum of some small dogs. Lifting this little giant is no easy task, as evidenced by the effort visible on Maggie’s flushed face as she holds her pet in her arms.

But if this dog is big, her father is even bigger. The adult Saint Bernard appears at the end of the video to see what is happening and you can see his great size: he reaches Maggie’s waist and, according to her, weighs around 84 kilos. So, very possibly, the puppy will end up being a big dog of similar size.

The video has generated a flurry of reactions among TikTok users, many of whom have expressed their astonishment at the size of the puppy and have anticipated the considerable weight it will reach as it grows. According to a user, it is estimated that when the puppy turns three years old she could weigh more than 60 kilos.

Additionally, the video has served as a platform to offer practical advice to Maggie, particularly when it comes to safely handling her puppy to prevent injuries. Some users have advised him not to bend his hips to pick up her dog, but to crouch down. This move can help avoid the risk of damaging her back due to the puppy’s considerable weight.
