A man in his 30s lost his life in a tragic wrong-way crash on eastbound State Route 76 in Oceanside, California. The incident took place just west of Melrose Drive at around 9:26 p.m., according to the Oceanside Police Department.

The man, whose identity has not been disclosed, was driving a tan Buick Century in the wrong direction when he collided with a white Honda Clarity driven by 20-year-old Stephanie Zamora, a resident of Oceanside. The impact of the crash caused major injuries to the man, leading to his unfortunate death at 9:31 p.m. Zamora, on the other hand, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Palomar Hospital in Escondido for medical care.

Authorities suspect that alcohol and/or drugs may have played a role in causing this fatal collision. The Major Accident Investigation Team is currently looking into the details of the incident.
