The animal rights community of Puebla is shocked by the sudden loss of Elena Larrea. At 31 years old, the well-known OnlyFans model was recognized as a tireless leader in the defense of animal rights and the mind behind the Cuacolandia sanctuary in Atlixco, State of Puebla, Mexico. Her departure, due to pulmonary thrombosis, confirmed by the sanctuary’s networks, leaves an irreparable void in the local animal rights movement.
The Animalist Movement of Puebla expressed its deep regret for the loss of Larrea, highlighting his valuable contribution to the animal cause and his unwavering commitment to the well-being of mistreated equines.
The governor of Puebla, Sergio Salomón, also joined in the condolences, recognizing the positive impact that Larrea had on state legislation regarding animal protection and ensuring the government’s continued support to safeguard the sanctuary and its inhabitants.
“I deeply regret the death of Elena Larrea, a tireless fighter for the defense of animal welfare. The rescue of thousands of horses in conditions of abuse, leave testimony of her life and work. On behalf of the Government of Puebla, we extend our solidarity hug to his family and friends,” began the message published on his X account, formerly Twitter.
“We inform that through the Ministry of the Environment, we will guarantee the protection of the specimens found in Cuacolandia, derived from procedures of the
PUE Animal Welfare Institute. Likewise, we will provide all the necessary help so that other horses are cared for by the authorities that rescued them as well as the rest of the horses, prioritizing their well-being at all times. We will follow your example. Rest in peace, Elena,” he concluded.
Elena Larrea’s story is marked by her dedication and passion for animals. In 2017, she founded a shelter that took in horses, mares, mules, donkeys and other equines that had been abandoned or mistreated, and named it Cuacolandia. Over the years, the sanctuary became a symbol of hope and refuge for these vulnerable animals, thanks to Larrea’s hard work and determination.
However, keeping Cuacolandia operational was not an easy task. Larrea faced numerous financial challenges and obstacles in her path, leading her to seek new sources of income to support the sanctuary and continue her rescue mission. This is how she decided to venture into the OnlyFans subscription platform, where she offered erotic and pornographic content in exchange for donations to Cuacolandia.
This decision, although controversial, proved to be a lifeline for the sanctuary. The income generated through OnlyFans allowed Larrea to maintain Cuacolandia’s operations and expand its ability to rescue and rehabilitate abandoned and abused horses. Today, the sanctuary is home to more than 45 animals, all of them beneficiaries of Larrea’s commitment and generosity.
In addition to his work in Cuacolandia, Larrea was an influential figure in the legislative fight against animal abuse. In collaboration with the Animalist Movement of Puebla, he managed to have state laws classify zoophilia as a crime, marking an important milestone in the protection of animal rights in the region.
