Consumption alerts allergic people about the presence of milk proteins in a nut crunch product

The Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition (AESAN), belonging to the Ministry of Social Rights, Consumption and Agenda 2030, has alerted allergic people about the presence of milk proteins, not included in the labeling, in a ‘crunch’ product. ‘ of dried fruits from the Air Nuts brand (Ref: ES2024/177).

The AESAN has indicated that it has learned of this fact through the Coordinated System for Rapid Information Exchange (SCIRI) with an alert notification sent by the health authorities of Castilla y León.

In this sense, the agency has stated that the information published is the result of the self-control of the company itself, which has communicated the incident to the competent authorities, in compliance with the legislation and in order not to make unsafe food available to the population.

Specifically, the name of the product is ‘Peanut Crunch with sour cream aroma’, from the Air Nuts Rebels brand. The appearance of the product is packaged and the batch and expiration date are all in which the labeling does not include the presence of milk. Likewise, the barcode is 8435024408990, the unit weight is 30.0g and the ambient temperature.

The initial distribution has been to the autonomous communities of Andalusia, Cantabria, Valencian Community, Catalonia, Castilla-La Mancha and Madrid, although the AESAN does not rule out that there may be redistributions to other Autonomous Communities.

This information has been transferred to the competent authorities of the autonomous communities through the Coordinated System for Rapid Information Exchange (SCIRI) and to the Services of the European Commission through the European Food Alert Network (RASFF), with the aim of that the withdrawal of the affected products from marketing channels be verified.

As a precautionary measure, people allergic to milk proteins who may have the aforementioned product in their homes are advised to refrain from consuming it. Finally, the AESAN points out that the consumption of this product does not entail any risk for the rest of the population.
