There are things that you see on TV cooking shows that seem very appetizing, but when you find out the price, you convince yourself that they are not really necessary and that you already know other ways to do the same.

It happened to me with silicone mats. I learned to use them in cooking school and discovered their advantages, but it seemed to me that in a home kitchen it was an unnecessary investment.

Until the best thing that can happen to you when you don’t want to make an expense happened: they gave them to me. I’m not going to tell you that my life changed, but many things became easier.

Not having to deal with food sticking to the baking trays, having the peace of mind that you put the mats in the dishwasher and forget about it, and achieving a well-done and even bottom in baked doughs (cookies, breads).

As I say, it’s not the invention of the century, but I do recommend, if you can, that you spend it. Or that, at least, you drop it as an idea when they ask you what you want for your birthday.
