When you decide to undertake renovations at home, you place your trust in the professionals you hire, expecting that their work will not only beautify that space, but that it will be carried out with the utmost care and professionalism. It’s especially important for pallets to pay attention to every detail, including the safety of the most vulnerable beings in the house: pets.

Although it may seem unusual, there are cases in which, due to carelessness or lack of attention, these faithful companions end up in truly strange and potentially dangerous situations, such as being trapped behind newly built or repaired walls.

A clear example of this is the recent experience of a TikToker known as JAY, who found herself having to rescue her cat Taytay after her apartment’s maintenance staff accidentally left him trapped inside a wall.

The video captures the moment of tension and desperation in which JAY tries by all means to free Taytay. The cat is heard meowing and scratching at the wall, trying to somehow communicate his distress and find a way out of his captivity. The owner, evidently worried and alarmed, recounts her struggle to open a hole with a knife large enough for the cat to climb out without being harmed.

The situation comes to a head when, in the midst of a rescue attempt, JAY discovers an unexpected obstacle: a pipe just behind the wall where Taytay was trapped. This discovery adds an extra degree of difficulty to the already complicated rescue, forcing JAY to proceed even more cautiously to avoid injuring his pet or causing further damage to the structure of the apartment. “I try to get him to move. I don’t want to stab him,” she assures.

Fortunately, after several attempts and adjustments to the opening, JAY finally manages to free Taytay from her plaster prison, causing him to express his relief and happiness at having been able to rescue his beloved cat unharmed. Although it will be necessary to do new work.
