The young soloist from Pamplona who has lived in Barcelona for five years, a city that she already considers part of it, her home between concerts on the tour to present Cuando no se quien soy, the second album in a career with which she wants to demonstrate her maturity. personal and compositional with themes that separates her from the image of an innocent girl with whom she won the Operación Triunfo program in 2017.

How did you decide to come and live in Barcelona?

I have always liked Barcelona a lot, it has caught my attention. When I was 13 years old, my brother was living in Barcelona, he studied here and we came to visit him. So since I was little I have had a relationship with Barcelona. He also wanted to finish studying the middle grade of piano, and at the conservatory they told me that this was where it was best studied, where there were better teachers. He also had friends and knew people.

Did the music also influence?

Between Madrid and Barcelona there is quite a scene, it is true that now in Madrid there is a lot of movement in terms of music, groups, singers or producers, but Barcelona and Madrid are very well connected and I usually go to Madrid a lot for work. In Barcelona I am calm and on a professional level I alternate between the two cities.

He has released a new single, Fever

It is a song that I really like and I was already singing on the presentation tour of When I don’t know who I am. Live I made a song for piano and voice that worked quite a lot, and I wanted to make a slightly slow production, quite different from the original, I have given it a different air and I like it a lot, the truth is, I am very happy with this release.

Did you feel like recording it or was it a request from your followers?

A bit for everything, I wanted to take it out, it’s a song that I really like and I just wanted to and it’s done.

How did you come up with the idea of doing this piano version?

When I’ve done versions on the piano I’ve liked taking songs that are far from my style, or that are far from the original version. Fever is a song that I have loved since I was a teenager, that I have listened to a lot, and when I was preparing the new tour I was also thinking about what version I could do. I like to do new versions at concerts, I enjoy it a lot and I thought this song would be very cool, I tried it on the piano, I did that version and it seemed great to me.

He collaborates with many artists such as Alizzz himself, Rigoberta Bandini or Rojuu

I really like working with different people, with people I like the music they make and what they do, not only at the level of musical collaborations. You learn different ways of working, you soak up what they do.

How did these collaborations come about?

Each one has a different story, for example Alizzz in El encuentro told me on Instagram that she had a song and we met one day and I recorded it. It was quite dynamic, basically for Instagram. All the collaborations have been given in different ways, I proposed to Rojuu to collaborate and she replied “ah, yes, I had also thought about doing things with you”, it was something that we both thought about without speaking to each other.

There is a batch of solo women that dominates the market

It is clear that yes, in the musical scene there are many women right now and it is great. I am very happy to be in this panorama, for me it is an honor to have so many colleagues. But it is also true that within the industry even more changes are needed, because in the world within there are also many women but they are not seen as much as the singers. For example, at the producer level they are always men and it would also be cool if female producers began to appear. In the studio I have never found a girl at the table.

This Sunday he performs at the Elyssia Freixenet space. What will the concert be like?

I’m really looking forward to it, I’m playing at 8:30 p.m. and I think it will be very beautiful with the sunset in such a beautiful place. This summer I’m doing the last leg of the Cuando no se quien soy tour, and the concert is going to be the same as the one I’ve been doing in the other performances. People who see it for the first time will be surprised, I’m very happy with the live show, it’s one of the things I enjoy the most.

The solo tour ends next September at the Wizink Center

The Wizink concert has been talked about for a long time, it was already discussed with the previous tour. Performing in such a big venue has always given me respect, it’s quite impressive, but with this tour it has ended up being done and for me it’s incredible. I want to continue doing concerts at the Wizink and I hope there are more opportunities because it’s an honor for me, really. There will be surprises there, I want it to be a unique concert.

And after the tour what will come?

I will start making new music, in fact I am already doing it, I think the new album will be out at the end of 2023 or beginning of 2024.

How do you see your participation in OT now that six years have passed?

It is the springboard that has led me to where I am, for which I am very happy to have gone and very grateful, but it is true that I am a different person, I have changed a lot. I remember it with great affection, like any person if they watch videos of their adolescence, their transition to adulthood, that’s what I feel, like anyone when they see themselves in the past.
