Elvis Presley fans who missed the chance to see their hero when he was still alive are in luck. Thanks to virtual reality, later this year they will be able to relive the experience of seeing the “King of Rock ‘n’ Roll” perform.
Elvis Evolution, as this hybrid between show and concert will be called, will use AI, holographic projection and augmented reality to recreate everyday events in the singer’s life and his music, stated Layered Reality, the immersive entertainment company that develops this latest show. After London, the company has a tour planned and will travel to cities such as Las Vegas, Tokyo or Berlin.
“It’s going to be a joyous celebration of the life of Elvis – the man, the music and his cultural legacy,” said Andrew McGuinness, founder and CEO of Layered Reality. “The ‘crescendo’ of the experience is an AI interpretation of a live Elvis concert,” he concluded.
Visitors will be taken on a journey from Tupelo, Mississippi, where Presley was born in 1935, to Memphis, Tennessee, home of Graceland, and Las Vegas.
Layered Reality reached an agreement with Authentic Brands Group, owner of Elvis Presley’s estate, to develop Elvis Evolution. The British company had access to thousands of the star’s personal photos and hours of home videos to create the new presentations using AI, McGuinness said.
Global interest in the singer, widely acclaimed as the best-selling solo music artist of all time with more than 500 million records sold, has not dimmed 46 years after his death at age 42.
The director ensures that Elvis Evolution will attract both fans and those curious to discover more about the singer of illustrious songs such as Can’t Help Falling in Love or In the Ghetto.
