Castilla is wide and increasingly varied, where we find very interesting wines from very different elaborations and in many cases surprisingly fresh.

This high altitude wine appreciates the altitude, a fact that is reflected in a good acidity and its very vertical and sharp result. Its clay-calcareous soil gives it a lot of minerality and in fact the finish is saline, almost salty. The nose is very varietal with notes of pineapple, apple and citrus, as well as smoky touches, fine wood and sweet spices due to its 9 months in French barrels. The palate is very enveloping and fruitful. Long finish and long life still in this wine.
In this Quixote, the Tempranillo variety is perfectly complemented by the Merlot and Petit Verdot varieties. This coupage brings more nuances to the wine, as well as its year in French and American oak barrels. It is expressed aromatic, with dominance of fresh red and black fruit, balsamic touches, field herbs and scrubland. The palate is wide, fresh, meaty, fruity and with a peal of balsamic notes at the end.
It is a winery that has polished foreign grape varieties with finesse and elegance in most of its wines. In this case the grapes are more familiar and aged in French oak for 12 months. Its color is very intense with dominance of herbs, in its fruit I highlight the blackberry, cherry and raspberry. Notes of scrubland and menthol give it complexity. The palate is smooth, with good acidity and a crisp, herbaceous tannin.
Curro Bareño embarks on this interesting project, with a great background in the Ribeira Sacra. The wine has rested for 7 months in foudres, which give it complexity and provide it with more nuances. These are old Grenaches that grow on granitic soils at favorable altitudes to achieve a fluid, fresh and floral profile. In the mouth it is sweet and fruity with dominance of red fruit and a mineral finish.
In this wine, the grapes are harvested overnight to preserve their aroma. It is very expressive and fresh as a whole. We highlight aromas of exotic fruits such as mango, citrus such as grapefruit and peach-type stone. It also offers freshly cut field herbs and flowers. In the mouth it is very fruity in the mid palate and slightly herbal at the end.
This red wine is a monovarietal from very old and recovered vines, with scrupulous craftsmanship. It is very fruity with weight in red fruit, cocoa, spices and flowers. The palate is surprising at its end, where I would define it almost as salty. It has good acidity, tannins and its fruit is very juicy on the palate. Its aging mixes French and American oak.
The grapes come from the Las Carboneras plot, aged in egg-shaped clay tanks. The vineyards grow on limestone and clayey soils and are worked organically. They enjoy a good altitude that gives freshness to the future wine. In this wine, the lees are used to give it more volume in the mouth. Aromas of grapefruit, orange blossom, red berries, roses and a touch of milk stand out.
