Zara puts one foot in the future with its new plan for physical stores, which will be carried out throughout 2024. During the presentation of results for this semester, Inditex’s flagship has announced innovative changes that seek to streamline the process of purchase and automate it even more, after they already included their self-collection checkouts, Pay and Go, in some stores.

In search of optimizing the shopping experience, in the Zara flagship located in the Plaza de España in Madrid, and soon in the rest of the stores, it is no longer even necessary to check out. Through the app and through self-payment, the customer makes their purchase automatically.

The problem of having to remove rigid alarms before collection will be solved by the end of 2024, thanks to RFID radio frequency technology. A system that the brand already uses to register its stock in warehouses live and at all times.

Thus, rigid alarms will disappear in 2025 and RFID radio frequency alarms will be included. A technology that begins to be tested this season and that will allow Zara to increase its sales. Although it is true that the firm has detected some thefts with this new alarm, according to Bloomberg, the company assures that these have not been “significant” and that the process is moving forward to fulfill its agenda.
