This 2023 has been busy in the different Royal Houses of the European territory. Starting with the coming of age of Leonor de Borbón and Christian of Denmark, passing through the delicate state of health of Mette-Marit of Norway and arriving at the noisy rumors that linked Federico of Denmark with the Mexican Genoveva Casanova. However, the year is not over yet and there has been time for one last piece of news to be swept under the rug.

In this case, it comes from the press of the Netherlands, who place Princess Amalia of Holland in a relationship with a “special friend”: Boris Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, better known as Boris of Bulgaria. Privé magazine placed Miriam de Ungría’s son at the center of a sentimental connection with the daughter of Kings William Alexander and Máxima, even going so far as to insinuate that both would have been seeking residence in Spain.

This information published by the Dutch magazine would mean the existence of romantic relationships in up to three different royal houses, in Holland, Bulgaria and Jordan. It should be remembered that Miriam of Ungría is currently married to Prince Ghazi bin Muhammad, first cousin of the current King Abdullah II and sixteenth in line to the throne. Several additional media outlets point to the theory that Amalia and Boris have been seeing each other frequently in Madrid.

Another element that gossip magazines have pointed out was what happened on October 14 in Jerez de la Frontera, during the wedding of the Duchess of Medinaceli, Victoria Hohenlohe, with Maxime Corneille. The wedding took place in the church of Saint Michael, and was attended by several prominent members of the Dutch royalty, including Kings Alexander and Máxima and also Amalia, who was accompanied by Boris by the arm at all times.

The blog All Things Amalia has also pointed out the possibility of a romance between the two: “Like Amalia, Prince Boris is fluent in Spanish and they both have more things in common. Amalia currently spends a lot of time in Madrid and Prince Boris is also in the Spanish capital. A romantic soul could find all kinds of things there. As far as we know, Prince Boris and Princess Amalia move exclusively in more or less the same circles, let’s leave it at that.”

Likewise, the presence of both in the Spanish capital has been confirmed on many occasions by various media outlets. Queen Máxima is also a regular visitor to Madrid, and this Christmas she has been spotted in the city with a friend of hers. For his part, Boris recently moved to the center of the Iberian Peninsula from London, with the intention of continuing his studies.
