Next Sunday, March 10, or in our case the early morning of Sunday the 10th to Monday the 11th, the Dolby Theater, Los Angeles will witness the 93rd Oscars. Once again, the audiovisual industry is paralyzed to find out the decisions of the American Academy, in addition to what awaits the Spanish candidates. Movies like The Snow Society and Robot Dreams are in the spotlight for statuettes.

However, to do this you will have to go through a three-hour gala in which Oppenheimer presents herself as the main candidate to win it all. An extensive ceremony, in which there will be performances of all kinds and the classic format of former winners presenting the categories and nominees will be recovered. All this under the direction of a man who takes charge of the stage for the fourth time, his second in a row: Jimmy Kimmel.

The American television presenter will once again be the most visible face of the ceremony after his positive work last year, in addition to successfully accumulating two other galas under his belt. “I have always dreamed of presenting the Oscars exactly four times,” joked Kimmel, who will also be accompanied by his wife and regular producer, Molly McNearney, at the event on March 10.

This edition of the Oscars will be a litmus test in terms of script and comments to share with guests, after the strikes of scriptwriters and actors that paralyzed the industry in the middle of last year. However, the comedian also has a long list of successes that guarantee his survival, including his longevity: Kimmel has been active in the United States for a total of 35 years.

Born in New York in 1967, since 2003 he has had his own nightly talk show, comedy scenes and highlights with a multitude of collaborators: Jimmy Kimmel Live!. Previously, he had been carving out a career as a radio host before rising to fame on Comedy Central, playing the comedic counterpart to Ben Stein on the game show Win Ben Stein’s Money.

His everyman attitude without excesses but with quick responses soon made him a popular face and also helped him present other awards ceremonies. In addition to the four occasions he will achieve this year with the Oscars, Kimmel has even commanded the Primetime Emmy galas, in 2012, 2016 and 2020. In addition, Time magazine distinguished him in 2018 as one of the 100 most influential people of the planet.
