Ben Affleck and Matt Damon are two of the most recognized actors in the film industry. Both have a great relationship since they were young, a bond so close that they even consider each other’s best friends. Both have worked on various productions together; they co-starred in and co-wrote Good Will Hunting, a film that won them an Oscar. In addition, they shared a set again in The last duel. Currently, they are partners, but there was a time when even their private lives were united, since they shared a flat. Now Affleck has revealed more details about that time.

Their friendship led them to found their own production company, Artists Equity, a label currently preparing a film with Jennifer Lopez, Affleck’s wife, entitled Unstoppable. This company has also been behind Air, a tape about the creation of Air Jordan shoes and which has been directed by Affleck. Both he and Damon have collaborated on the script work, also acting, and it has been very well received by critics.

This new production has led them to fulfill several professional commitments with the press. In fact, Ben was attending an interview with James Corden on The Late Late Show, where he revealed some details about his friendship with Damon. Before his rise to stardom, Ben and Matt shared a flat with Affleck’s brother, fellow actor Casey Affleck. About this stage he has spoken with Corden in the aforementioned interview.

The mythical presenter asked the actor about his coexistence with Damon and, curiously, he assures that he does not have very good memories. “To my knowledge, Matt has never paid a bill to this day,” he recalls. “We were wondering ‘why aren’t the lights working?’ and it was because the power company needed money to keep financing our electricity,” the Batman interpreter said with a laugh. And it is that, as revealed, Damon was a disaster as a roommate.

In fact, the husband of ‘JLo’ has revealed an anecdote that he lived in the apartment that he shared with his professional partner, pointing out that he was in charge of cleaning everything that Damon dirty, and that one day, together with his brother, they decided go on a cleaning strike to get Damon more involved with the chores. However, this measure did not bear fruit.

“We came home one day and Matt was there, in shorts playing, I think it was the Sega 92 hockey game, in the middle of what was the living room surrounded by concentric circles of pizza box junk,” he said. Affleck, causing the presenter to laugh. “I looked down at this thing that had sushi on it, that had been there for about a week and a half, and there were worms,” Affleck recalled, drawing disgusted expressions from viewers.

Affleck assures that, from that moment, he decided to give up on him. “And we were like ‘we give up, you’re too good, we can’t beat you’. And he’s like ‘what’s up guys?'” During the interview, Ben joked about what Luciana Bozán, Damon’s wife of 17 years, has to endure. “God bless his wife, Lucy. There is a place for you in heaven,” the interpreter joked.

However, and despite the fact that living with the Interstellar actor was not the best due to his little involvement with household chores, they both love each other very much. The actor accompanied these statements with other more affectionate ones, which reflect the good relationship that exists between them. “He is a wonderful boy. I love him. He is my best friend. He has been great all my life and he is a brilliant boy, a great actor,” he sentenced.
