In this week’s program of Las tres puertas, one of the guests has been Vicky Martín Berrocal. The designer went to the set to chat with María Casado about her professional career and the problems she has had in her life.
Maria welcomed the guest telling her that she did not have the pleasure of meeting her and she was looking forward to it. Vicky defined herself as a real person without filters. She likes to say things clearly and not keep anything quiet. ”You can say what you want, it’s the way you say it, I go to bed very happy, you always have to throw it up,” she said. She also confessed that it has not always been like this, that it has been a long road in the sense of loving each other.
The guest talked about when she was little and she was going to buy a dress with her mother. Her shop assistants told her that there was no size for her, but her mother has always been there to support her and teach her that one of hers has to love herself.
”I didn’t learn it until recently. I have spent battling with the weight’, with fear, with my insecurities, I have looked in the mirror and I have cried. You have to get to the moment when the woman looks at herself and likes herself,” she confessed. In addition, he added that we are always aware of what others think of oneself, when in reality what matters is what you think.
And it is that Vicky confessed that she has suffered from being overweight and obese. ”It is a disease, but it is not treated as such, but it is. I lived with twenty so many kilos in a backpack. I have taken off twenty as much since the Covid ”, she confessed. She explained that life with more weight is always more complicated. ”It is not an aesthetic question, the mind is the one that can handle everything,” she affirmed.
Since that happened to her, she designs clothes for all sizes and all bodies. “It bothers me that broken women from other places arrive,” she confessed. There came a time when she said that she had to start taking care of herself because she ate without control, for whatever problem she had.
