This Thursday, TVE kicked off the eighth edition of MasterChef Celebrity with some luxury contestants. However, the culinary talent already began with controversy before starting due to the jury’s unfortunate comments on the Rubiales case. Once the program started, disaster came with Genoveva Casanova’s plate, which ended up expelled from it.
However, among the anecdotes that happened throughout the broadcast, there was one that caused laughter from those present. It was the moment in which Toñi Moreno revealed when she met Jesulín de Ubrique, and the disappointment that she experienced at the beginning of their friendship.
The presenter’s funny revelation occurred during the presentation of the MasterChef Celebrity 8 contestants at the hands of the jury, made up of Samantha Vallejo-Nágera, Pepe Rodríguez and Jordi Cruz. When Toñi Moreno’s turn came, Pepe asked her if she had asked her friend María del Monte for advice (remember that she left the kitchens because she couldn’t take it anymore).
To which the journalist joked and said: “Don’t let him come.” Which made her colleagues laugh. However, Moreno assured that his permanence is also due in part to the fact that a great friend of his is among the cast of apprentices. He was referring to Jesús Janeiro, better known in the bullrings as Jesulín de Ubrique.
“I come hand in hand with Jesus, we have known each other since we were little and we have been calling each other,” the presenter began by recounting. “We have known each other since we were 14 years old. I was a presenter on the local TV in my town and he was a bullfighter, ”she continued with the story.
Then, Moreno explained how they called each other on the phone, although the journalist had to go to her neighbor’s house because there was none at hers. “I was very excited and he told me: ‘Macarena, how are you?’ And I: ‘I’m not Macarena.’ This guy doesn’t know my name, he’s flirting with me…” he said, causing laughter from those present at the disappointment he had with the then bullfighter.
“It’s just that I got involved,” the right-hander tried to justify, “I didn’t have time.” “I had a notebook with all the names!” confirmed Toñi Moreno. To iron out rough edges and take the edge off the issue, Jesulín concluded with: “But hey, after so much time here we are both.”
