José Luis Martínez-Almeida, mayor of Madrid, and Teresa Urquijo have become husband and wife in a ceremony that has captured everyone’s attention. As the hours have passed, more details of this long-awaited event have become known, among which the emotional speech given by Almeida stood out.

During the party, held on a farm on the outskirts of Madrid, Almeida spoke some words that resonated deeply with those present, among whom were the emeritus king Juan Carlos I, Isabel Díaz Ayuso and Alberto Núñez Feijóo. The Fiesta program has managed to find out what the councilor said.

Thus, he began his speech with a tribute to his late parents and expressed his gratitude to the emeritus kings for accompanying them on this special day. “She began by referring to his parents, now deceased, and to their majesties the emeritus kings for accompanying them on such a special day,” said reporter Sonia Fernández.

The mayor continued his message by speaking directly about his relationship with Teresa, describing her as a blessing in his life. Furthermore, Almeida expressed his commitment and his intention to form a family together: “He has said that he has the obligation to live up to this woman and make her happy, that this blessing has to be returned to her in the form of sons or daughters.”

Throughout his presentation, Almeida not only shared his joy at having found Teresa, but also his surprise. In this sense, he cited advice from her mother: “Never stop believing.” According to the magazine, he later wanted to “thank Teresa, telling her that he never thought he would find a woman like her.” She also joked about what she would have seen in him, but acknowledged that she “now had no turning back.”

At the end, the Madrid mayor did not forget to thank again the presence of the most distinguished guests and closed his speech with a powerful “Long live the King and Long live Spain.”
