That Katy Perry dressed as a hamburger to attend the 2019 Met Gala after party is something difficult to forget. For the most knowledgeable in fashion, in the history of collaborations the motorized jacket with the McDonalds logo that the Finnish designer Jimi Vain took to the catwalk in Milan will also be remembered. And what can we say about the line that Moschino dedicated to the fast food chain in 2014: bags in the shape of a Happy Meal, bathrobes crowned with the emblematic and rounded yellow ‘M’, visors and even a clutch in the shape of a soda. A luxurious ode to fast food that responds more to an advertising strategy than to a real trend.
McDonalds’ latest conquest in fashion has taken place in the footwear sector, through a capsule collection that on its first day on sale has already sent social media crazy. The famous brand Crocs has joined forces with the fast food chain to design four models that evoke the characters invented by McDonalds.
The designs are inspired by the loyal Crocs Stars™ and Mickey D and are dyed in red, yellow, lilac and black and white. The line also includes socks and fun jibbitz that allude to the most famous dishes on the McDonald’s menu, that is, chicken McNuggets, World famous fries and a tasty Big Mac.
Fans of the most extravagant fashion collaborations have flooded social networks like Tik Tok commenting on this curious capsule collection. The most popular videos have nearly 300 thousand views as well as thousands of comments applauding this collaboration.
“We’re impressed with the way our fans show their love for McDonald’s and it turns out that Crocs fans are just as passionate,” Molly McKenna, McDonald’s Senior Director of Brand Communications, explained in a press release. The line arrives this Tuesday at the Crocs online showcase and is available for purchase in thirty countries.
