The first trailer for Muertos S.L. shows what the sense of humor will be like in the new comedy by brothers Alberto and Laura Caballero: the protagonists, responsible for a funeral home, consider themselves more important than the health workers who saved lives during the pandemic.
“During the pandemic we had more work than anyone else. But who was applauded at eight o’clock on the balconies? To the toilets,” laments the character played by Carlos Areces. The series, therefore, has a sense of black humor, entanglements and corpses in a market that, as the characters comment, is difficult to gain loyalty due to the mortality of customers.
The starting point is the death of Gonzalo Torregrosa, owner and founder of the Torregrosa Funeral Home. Dámaso Carrillo, his right-hand man in the company, does not doubt that the best thing for the continuity of the business is for him to assume command.
But, against all odds, Nieves, the septuagenarian widow, decides to take charge of the family business, helped by her useless and enthusiastic son-in-law, Chemi, an expert in Marketing, and against her daughters’ plans to close and set up a gym.
While Dámaso conspires and manipulates his colleagues against the new management, the company will face the competition, the Transitus funeral home, and its plan to expand its business, and a case involving
Apart from Areces, the cast includes Ascen López, Diego Martín, Amaia Salamanca, Salva Reina, Adriana Torrebejano, Gerald B. Fillmore, Aitziber Garmendia, Roque Ruiz, Lorea Intxausti, Manolo Cal, Bárbara Santa-Cruz, Lucía Quintana and Juan Miguel Battler.
The Caballero brothers will diversify their creativity a little more, after closing the broadcast of El pueblo on Mediaset and Prime Video, having La que se loom still running in the same companies, expanding their offering with Machos alfa on Netflix and now developing this Muertos S.L. for Movistar Plus, which can be seen starting April 4.
