With the arrival of June, the month of the end of Sálvame also begins. The last broadcast of the program’s daily strip will take place next Friday the 23rd, after learning that the Deluxe version will be stretched for two more editions and will end on July 7.
The news of the cancellation of Sálvame felt like a jug of cold water to its staunchest followers, so that social networks were flooded with messages in support of the space produced by La fabrica de tele. To this was added the call for a demonstration at the gates of Mediaset España, in Madrid, in order to protest the end of the program, and which was scheduled for this Thursday, June 1.
“Save me is more than a family: Save me is freedom and vindication, and it enters our homes every afternoon to make us smile and escape our sadness,” wrote the organizers of the rally to which all viewers of the program were called. In addition, they asked attendees to carry “yellow and orange banners and balloons”, in reference to “the fruits” of Sálvame (Lemon and Orange).
However, when the big day arrived, the call did not achieve its objective. At 4:00 p.m., the time when the show starts its broadcast every afternoon on Telecinco, a crowd must have gathered at the gates of Mediaset but, as La Vanguardia has learned, there was not a single person protesting at that precise moment. Furthermore, just a few minutes after the scheduled time for the demonstration, it has started to rain heavily.
Due to the importance of the event, there are many followers of Sálvame who have been attentive to social networks to see first-hand the evolution of the concentration. For this reason, and given the obvious failure of the call, they have used those same platforms to express their confusion.
“Where are the images of the Sálvame demonstration?” Several users asked when they did not see any movement in this regard. Another of them, from the place where the concentration should have taken place, has confirmed the null monitoring of it: “The demonstration against the cancellation of Sálvame at the gates of Mediaset brings together a total of… zero people”, has written next to an image that corroborates your information.
