The representative of Spain in Junior Eurovision 2023, Sandra Valero, dazzled this Sunday at the contest. Accompanied by her dancers, Juan Diego Álvarez, Elia Cobo, Marcos Pelado and Evelyn Castañeda, the Spanish artist in the children’s version of the festival was the first of the 16 young people who had to pass through the stage of the Palais Nikaïa in Nice. Valero has made the venue vibrate to the rhythm of her Loviu.

The fun song, written by Luis Ramiro, Alejandro Martínez, David Parejo and Diego Cantero, the latter vocalist of the Funambulista group, has raised applause in the French venue. The young woman has sung in up to five different languages: Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, French and English. A wink that the Spanish delegation hopes will help dazzle the juries of each country and televoting. In this case, as far as the popular vote is concerned, TVE viewers can bet on their own standard bearer.

The staging has fascinated due to the large number of colors it has covered. Javier Pageo’s design has been designed to reflect the union between European peoples. The young woman, along with her stage companions, has performed practically the entire song on a huge suitcase. Behind, you could see emblematic sites of Europe, such as Big Ben, the Tower of Pisa, etc. Towards the end of the performance, the artists got out of this suitcase and were able to be closer to the audience. It was then that signs began to appear with the phrase ‘I love you’ in various languages.

This young woman, 12 years old, was born in Benetússer (Valencia). It was at the age of four when she began singing. The artist has a great talent that led her to participate in the El Guardaespaldas musical and other musical competitions, such as Idol Kids or La Voz Kids. The song with which she thrilled the jury at the casting for the contest was Part of your world, the OST of The Little Mermaid. The young woman was chosen by the jury, made up of Ana María Bordas, César Vallejo, Miriam García Corrales, Pablo Rodríguez, Tony Sánchez-Ohlsson, Rayden and María Eizaguirre.

Like every artist, she has her references. Among them, Aitana. Her favorite representative in Eurovision is Chanel Terrero, who gave the bronze to Spain in 2022, as well as her favorite candidates are Pastora Soler and her Stay with me and in the junior version, María Isabel with Before dead than simple. Without a doubt, there are no better references for this young Valencian artist. We will have to wait to know what the final result is.
