French actor Alain Delon is in a complicated situation on a personal level. Last Tuesday, French justice announced the confiscation of 72 firearms and 3,000 ammunition in his house, south of Paris. The announcement comes after the legendary French actor was diagnosed with suicidal intentions just a few weeks ago.

According to the Prosecutor’s Office, the police operation was carried out near Delon’s residence in Douchy, in the Centre-Loire Valley, in the Loiret region. The 88-year-old actor lacks the weapons license that would allow him to have that arsenal. In addition, the actor has been subject to a judicial protection regime since last January, due to his health.

According to the newspaper Le Parisien, justice has decided to intervene after the children of the myth of French cinema revealed to the press that in the historic mansion in the south of Paris the use of weapons was common, with the property even having its own field shooting. However, last summer the actor was diagnosed with “a state of physical and mental exhaustion with a significant risk of suicide” by a doctor.

The health worker, sent by the justice system, caused a judicial investigation to be opened given the tensions between Alain Delon’s children and concern about the fragile state of health of the legendary actor, which have pushed the judicial services to take the necessary measures to avoid all types of risks to the actor.

It is not the first time that Alain Delon’s weapons collection has become the focus of controversy. In 2011, the youngest of the actor’s children carried a collector’s pistol during a party at the house the actor owns in Geneva (Switzerland). The gun was fired under unclear circumstances and seriously injured a Spanish teenager.

According to his daughter Anouschka in an interview with France Inter, the actor assures that he “no longer feels like” undergoing medical treatment and just wants to be allowed to “die in peace.” His statements come in the midst of the family dispute with his stepbrother Anthony and his brother Alain-Fabien, with whom he has a dispute over the custody of the legendary actor.

Anouchka said she tried to take her father to Switzerland, where she hoped he could receive treatment. However, his older brother accuses him of doing the same to avoid paying taxes in France, something that the daughter of the protagonist of The Samurai denies. “I’m horrified that they make me out to be someone I’m not, of course it’s not true,” she reiterated.

The actor’s daughter reported that her father’s treatment was interrupted, stating that the actor “no longer has the will” and his situation with his brothers is “hell.”
