The wife of Rosario Porto's ex-lover breaks her silence: “It doesn't hurt me at all, that's it”

The Asunta case is sweeping Netflix, it is a fact. The murder of little Asunta in 2013 at the hands of her adoptive parents, Alfonso Basterra and Rosario Porto, is back in the news thanks to the platform’s production, a six-part fiction starring Candela Peña and Tristán Ulloa.

The case has once again generated excessive interest in the media and on Monday afternoon, TardeAR obtained an unpublished testimony: that of the wife of the Galician businessman, Manuel García, who was allegedly Rosario Porto’s lover while she was still with Alfonso Basterra and who also appears in the fiction broadcast by the platform.

A woman with few words, who assures that everything she experienced at that moment, although painful, is part of a past already forgotten by all parties involved. When asked what she thought about the relationship she had with Rosario Porto, she is very clear: “It’s over.”

“We are doing great. It doesn’t hurt me at all, that’s it. It is a stage of my life that has already passed,” she insists.

The businessman became the involuntary protagonist of the entire story. Apparently, it was he who caused the breakup of the marriage of Rosario Porto and Alfonso Basterra, and little Asunta’s mother would have been with him just a day before the crime.

Those who know the story say that Rosario Porto lost her mind over him, even though the businessman always made it clear that he would never leave his wife and never promised her anything.

After Asunta’s death, García was considered a suspect after revealing that Rosario had been with him the day before the little girl’s murder, but he was immediately ruled out after interrogation, after verifying his alibis and acknowledging that he was very surprised by what happened.

It is not the first time that Ana Rosa Quintana’s magazine manages to speak with someone so close to the dramatic case that shook Spain a decade ago; Just a few days ago, the program obtained the testimony of José Antonio Vázquez Taín, investigating judge of the case, who also wanted to give more details about what happened.

Apparently, this businessman would not have been Rosario’s only love after breaking up her marriage with Alfonso Basterra. According to the last prisoner who accompanied the lawyer in prison before her death, Rosario Porto would have fallen in love with her on two occasions during her time in prison.

According to TardeAR, Porto fell in love in Teixeiro prison with a Uruguayan man, with a prisoner acting as a chaperone so they could see each other. “It was a love relationship, but from the previous prison. “She told me there were letters that were sent.”

Rosario would also have told him about her husband, Alfonso Basterra, with whom she claims she had an “uncomfortable” situation given that they were going to divorce.
