The most popular restaurant on the small screen, First Dates, opened its doors for another week. On Monday night, Carlos Sobera and Laura Boado welcomed a new batch of diners ready to spend an unparalleled evening. However, dates do not always go as expected, and sometimes viewers witness tense confrontations between different diners.
Something that Fernando and Anghie experienced firsthand. The 24-year-old bachelor had had a very complicated childhood due to his father’s illness. ”I had to cut his beard before it grew on me,” he declared. He was studying marketing and at the same time worked as a promoter to pay his parents’ mortgage. ”My father died and I have to pay for it,” he said. In love, the bachelor had not yet had a stable relationship. ”I think the difficult life I have had has had an influence. “He hasn’t allowed me to focus on these things,” he revealed.
His date was going to be Anghie, a 23-year-old Colombian single, who considered herself a transparent, spontaneous and sincere person. ”I like to go to the gym and I usually do it from Monday to Friday,” she said. The first impression among the singles was very different. While Fernando seemed happy with Anghie’s presence, she was disappointed. “I didn’t like her,” she said.
After exchanging their first words, the presenter accompanied the couple to their table, where they began the evening talking about their previous relationships. However, the single woman was once again disappointed when she discovered that Fernando had never had a girlfriend. ”It’s a lie, 24 years… even if it’s a relationship of three or four months…” she said.
Furthermore, the bachelor confessed that he was a person deeply rooted in traditional values, such as marriage and children. Something that disenchanted the single woman, who commented that she did not want children. ”It’s such a big responsibility that I don’t want to take it,” Anghie explained.
The date progressed and the conversation between the singles did not flow naturally. And they couldn’t agree on any issue, such as their sexual tastes. ”I like girls to be in control,” he confessed. ”If we put it in other words, submissive. I’m the complete opposite, how sad,” she said.
Suddenly, the bachelor confessed that the only thing he didn’t like about feminism were women who only sought their own benefit. ”If you want equality, when it comes to paying the bill, you’ll want to pay it in half,” he said. ”Are you telling me to pay half and half?” the single woman asked. ”I didn’t say that,” Fernando replied. ”I can pay for it in full, if you don’t want to pay,” Anghie assured.
However, the single woman was not going to be as willing to pay the bill as she initially said. A decision that was going to cause a tense confrontation between the two in the final stretch. ”I don’t have money,” she commented. ”Me neither (…) You said you were going to invite,” he responded. ”I never said that,” Anghie replied. In the end, the single woman changed her mind and decided to pay her share. ”You’re hesitating, first you don’t have anything, then you pay… I don’t understand anything,” Fernando asserted. Therefore, in the final decision there was no doubt and both rejected each other due to their strong clash.
