The statement of the main suspect in the crime of Esther López comes to light: "I have nothing to do with it"

Esther López, a resident of the town of Traspinedo (Valladolid), disappeared on the afternoon of January 12, 2022 after not returning home after going out with her friends to watch a soccer game. Her disappearance was quickly reported by her own father, and after a few weeks of searching, the Civil Guard found the woman’s lifeless body in a ditch.

When two years have passed since the crime, the trial of the main suspect and the only one under investigation has taken place. Óscar S. M. testified before the judge and the latter decided to release him with precautionary measures, maintaining the obligation to come to sign every Monday and the prohibition on leaving the country.

This Monday, the TardeAR program had exclusive access to Óscar’s statement before the judge, from the investigative journalist Manu Marlasca. In them, the suspect in the crime completely distances himself from what happened and accuses the Civil Guard of malpractice in the investigation.

The accused carried out up to eleven searches on his mobile phone for the point where Esther’s body appeared. “I work searching on Google Maps, every day there are a thousand searches, to calculate the routes to stop with the bus, and I calculated the route from Valladolid to the aparthotel,” she justified before the judge in her statement.

Regarding the DNA that was found in the trunk of his car, Óscar is conclusive: “In the first inspection they were searching in the trunk, because it was full of products and everything, and it does not appear there. It appears in the second inspection, Therefore, that DNA must have been put there from the first inspection to the second,” he said, adding that he went “pale” when he saw a dent that “wasn’t there” when he handed over the vehicle.

“Do I understand that this is a conspiracy against you by the Civil Guard?” the judge asked. “No, it’s a bad investigation, because I have nothing to do with what happened, and everything has been done to involve me,” the accused responded emphatically. “I have nothing to do with it, and I am going to prove it,” he declared.
