The death of the acclaimed actor Matthew Perry on October 28, 2023 left society orphaned of one of its greatest references in the world of fiction and comedy. Known throughout the planet for his character Chandler Bing in the legendary series Friends, the news of Perry’s death shocked millions of fans around the globe.
The circumstances in which the death occurred (they found him drowned in the jacuzzi of his house) and the different theories about whether he had died due to his addiction problems made the case even more media-friendly and became one of the main topics of conversation in the last months of 2023.
Perry was always open when talking about his addiction problems and, throughout his life, he said in different interviews that substance use had caused him countless troubles.
When it came to light that he had died, many of his friends (including actress Jennifer Aniston) defended the theory that he had been completely clean for more than a year and a half. However, some anonymous people have denied this information.
Three different sources contacted Us Weekly to make it clear that Perry had not managed to get out of the spiral of consumption in which he was involved. One of the sources confessed that the actor had different scares with the car due to being drugged and that he did not give them importance. “He never stopped taking drugs. He was verbally, emotionally and physically abusive, totally cruel and manipulative,” said one of the witnesses. “Everyone close to Matthew said he died of an overdose,” another source added.
These people stated to the aforementioned medium that, while Perry was promoting his memoirs in 2022, he was not sober, so he lied to all those who saw him as an example to follow. According to these statements, the famous person (allegedly) used the celebrity dating application Raya to meet young girls, whom he convinced to bring him drugs.
It should be noted that the final autopsy revealed that the actor died due to the effects of ketamine. Although many argue that it could have been the cause of the ketamine infusions that he took to treat depression and drug addiction, the medical examiner highlighted that the amount found in his system was much higher than that of any infusion.
Furthermore, he pointed out that the actor supposedly drank the last drink of his treatment a week and a half before his death, so he cannot be the cause of the incident, since the half-life of this substance in the body is about three or four hours.
