The 'piquito' at the Emmys between Brian Cox and Kieran Culkin with which 'Succession' fans have been amazed

The 2024 Emmys in their 75th edition have left moments to remember, apart from revalidating series like Succession or The Bear with six trophies each. Host Anthony Anderson’s musical number delighted viewers, although it was a thrill when the entire venue broke into a standing ovation upon seeing Christina Applegate after being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.

However, there were also somewhat bizarre moments to note. Like the one starring two of the stars of the famous Succession, Brian Cox and Kieran Culkin, who ended up kissing each other on the lips when the latter won one of the statuettes for best actor. Could anyone imagine seeing father and son giving each other so much affection? Fans of the series are still amazed.

Kieran Culkin is a great protagonist both in front of and behind the screen. In fact, before this iconic moment occurred with his fictional father, another kiss should be highlighted, this time stolen, from one of his Succession colleagues.

We are talking about J. Smith Cameron, who played Gerri, a Waystar Royco worker, and with whom Culkin, Roman Roy in his role in the series, had some sexual tension, but it was never culminated on screen.

Hence, what happened during the red carpet at the 2024 Emmys would be of great importance. And Culkin did not hesitate to interrupt Variety’s interview with Smith Cameron to imitate her and end up planting a resounding kiss on her mouth.

Although for a kiss on the lips or a peck, the most iconic of the gala, the one that no one would have expected, and even less so the followers of Succession, who have seen how the patriarch of the Roys despised his son Roman to unsuspected points. If the youngest ever asked for a show of affection, it finally materialized, but in real life.

It all happened when the three Succession actors were competing for the best actor award. It was then that Culkin’s name was announced and the young man began hugging his partner and his co-stars.

Then, it was the turn of Brian Cox, his implacable father in fiction, with whom he gave an emotional hug for several seconds, which culminated with a peck that was also highly applauded by those present. Seeing is believing!
