The case of alleged murder in Thailand involving the Spanish chef Daniel Sancho has provoked all kinds of reactions on the public scene. The event continues to occupy hours and hours of television talk shows as it deals with the son of actor Rodolfo Sancho, becoming one of the most important plots of the summer.
Although Daniel’s relatives remain in contact with him and with the media, the opinion of the cook’s neighbors at his residence in Madrid had yet to be known. A team from the Así es la vida program has moved to his neighborhood, one of the most exclusive in the city, to speak for the first time with several of them.
According to the Telecinco space, “a close friend” of Sancho would also be living in that area, “a luxury penthouse that he used to record his cooking videos”, so it is not his usual residence. A theory shared by the neighbors themselves: “He doesn’t live here, there have never been people here or they have had parties or anything,” says one of them.
Another passerby, however, did know Daniel Sancho through his daughter: “She saw the news when I hadn’t seen anything and she started crying, that she didn’t want to go back into the house. Of course, that impresses a lot, especially the children,” he confessed harshly. “I have shown him where he is, I have told him that he is there [in Thailand], that he cannot return, and that his friend, of course, has nothing to do with it,” she added.
In the same Madrid neighborhood there are many people who knew Sancho, even if it was only by sight. “I saw him there on the corner, and since I live there … I saw him but nothing else. What this boy has done is horrible,” says another of his neighbors to the cameras of Así es la vida.
The cook, in addition, would frequent a restaurant very close to his home and the attic to which he went regularly. Its owners have spoken with the program team and they also “don’t believe what happened.” “The restaurant owner tells us that he has served Daniel on several occasions together with his family and his girlfriend; he defines him as a calm, educated and very familiar boy,” the reporter said.
