The most controversial phrase from Daniel Sancho's lawyers in their press conference: "Nothing else?"

Daniel Sancho’s lawyers stated, in a press conference, “he never confessed that he had killed Mr. Arrieta. He confessed that there was a fight and that he had proceeded to dismember him. Nothing more.”

Carmen Balfagón and Marcos García Montes have not left anyone indifferent in their statements, and have criticized the actions of the Thai Police, as they have assured that it was “full of irregularities.” However, they have shown confidence in Thai justice, which is “guarantor of human rights”, and in a trial “with all guarantees”.

“Daniel never confessed that he had killed Mr. Arrieta. Never. Today we have the evidence that confirms it. He confessed that there had been a fight and collaborated with the police,” Balfagón announced. The lawyer has assured that Rodolfo Sancho’s son has never deviated from his statements.

After showing photographs of Sancho signing some documents in Thai without the presence of any lawyer, on the street, and without a translator. “The police earned Daniel’s trust and he gets what he gets,” he added. “From a legal point of view there is a lot to say”, he concluded.

Lawyer Balfagón’s words have generated numerous comments on social networks, and there are many users who have ironically referred to the fact that “killing is not the same as dismembering.” “He didn’t kill him, he dismembered him. And he would already have the defense of the year,” highlighted an X user, formerly Twitter.

“This lady doesn’t even believe what she says. If you kill a person by accident, you don’t cut him into pieces,” commented a user in the live feed of the press conference on YouTube. Other Internet users have recalled the purchases that Sancho made in Thailand before the events: knives, a saw, garbage bags, etc.

Daniel Sancho’s trial will not be before April 9, and in this appearance Balfagón explained that “Daniel’s defense is handled by the court-appointed lawyer. We believe he is a good colleague and we have empathy with him.”
