The storm scheduled for yesterday took time to reach the announced areas, but ended up furiously whipping the province of Toledo and the Community of Madrid. Once the night has passed, the havoc and material damage suffered in the downpour remain: the A-42 highway is still cut off at the height of the capital of La Mancha, while in Madrid the flooding was even noticeable in the Metro. A night that has affected hundreds of thousands of people and families.

One in particular that has expressed an uncomfortable anecdote in the middle of DANA has been that of Carlos Baute. The Venezuelan singer was returning from a concert by road with his wife Astrid Klisans and his three young children when they were affected by the torrential rains. As reported in a video published on Instagram, they found a hotel to spend the night but had a clash due to a distribution problem.

According to the artist, he and his family spent the last three days in Spain, coinciding with three planned performances, the last one in Santoña (Cantabria), and taking the opportunity to enjoy a few days of vacation. Back in Madrid, they ran into storms late at night, so they decided to stop at a hotel and continue the next day. However, the group ran into an unexpected request from the establishment.

“We arrived at a hotel that has its policies, all understandable, but this is where my story really makes sense: eleven at night, raining hard, a family with three children no more than 6 years old, tired from a trip and knowing that They will only be there for a few hours, the lady who attends to us tells us: they have to have two rooms and sleep SEPARATELY”, commented Baute, surprised and trying to make him understand that the situation is out of the ordinary.

“In my life, I have heard this policy, normally, when there are double beds, you can sleep with your little ones, we explain the situation and they reiterate that we will have to sleep in different rooms,” said the singer, before choosing to go to another hotel. Baute reproached the place where they tried to stay in the first place for a lack of sensitivity, before detailing that in the second establishment they did agree to put the five of them together in a single room.

“It is not about paying for one room more or one less, it is not an economic issue, nor is it an artist, doctor or any profession or trade, it is an exception issue due to humanity, if you know that in Madrid, it rains, it is eleven o’clock at night, a family arrives on a Sunday at a hotel where there is almost no one, be sensitive and say: we understand their situation and we will do our best to help… what is sad? At NO time did they want to help, or try to understand or have empathy and that is what bothers me, ”she explained.
