The Promise continues on the crest of the wave. TVE’s daily soap opera continues to break audience records, and its cast couldn’t be happier about it. From María Castro to Sara Molina, the La 1 series has a very special cast.
The characters most appreciated by fans of this historical drama are the servants who work in the Marquises’ house, among whom Candela and Simona stand out. Actresses Teresa Quintero and Carmen Flores Sandoval bring to life the most cheerful cooks on television.
“We didn’t expect this success,” admits Teresa Quintero, who plays the beloved Candela. Both interpreters have witnessed how the TVE series has become a phenomenon: “The team is wonderful and we couldn’t be in better hands,” they say.
The kitchen assistants at La Promesa have begun to notice the effects of popularity on the street, sharing some anecdotes with fans: “It happened to me during Easter, I went to a spa and I thought that with the shower cap and The glasses weren’t going to recognize me, but they did, because the target was 75-80 years old,” says Carmen Flores.
Likewise, the interpreter continues: “I was in the jacuzzi and a woman started: ‘Yes, yes, it’s you, you’ve changed your chef’s hat for your bathing hat.’ And in the summer I went into a bar and they put on the novel and I everyone recognized. ‘The cook is here!’ they began to say. Also some Italians on the Gran Vía in Madrid, because they are also broadcasting La Promesa there.” On the other hand, her co-star has become recognized in the Azores themselves.
Regarding the work on the filming set, the performers have a certain freedom to improvise in a sequence: “We have to respect the text, but once we say it, we usually continue improvising a little more, but sometimes they put it in and other times Sometimes not,” says Flores, who claims to resemble his character: “Yes, we are similar in character,” he reveals.
