“I’m happy, although I also have shitty days when I’ve thought about relapsing into drugs,” Sofía Cristo confesses this week in the pages of Readings. An interview that Bárbara Rey’s daughter gave just one day after the scandal broke out, after Ángel Cristo Jr.’s incendiary interview in which she detailed the hell she went through during her childhood.

A terrifying testimony that has turned the entire family into absolute protagonists of the present day, and that has made Ángel Cristo Jr. himself feel somewhat “sad” after his controversial statements, in which his mother does not exactly come out well; but neither did his sister, who was then consumed by drugs.

Perhaps for this reason, in these complicated moments, Sofía Cristo has wanted to use what gives her strength, but even her followers have been surprised by the enigmatic message that she has shared on social networks, since the DJ has sent a reflection based in a biblical passage.

“Hold on to faith, always,” Sofía Cristo begins by saying. “Meditate with this psalm of protection and love. You will see how God will fill you with strength. Amen.”

Bárbara Rey’s little daughter also shares a Psalm, which speaks of hope and trust in God, who protects those who have faith. A somewhat enigmatic message for some, but very clear for some of her very devoted followers, who have seen in the young woman’s words “advice” for her older brother.

The surprise appearance of Ángel Cristo Jr. on television caught his mother and sister off guard, who watched in amazement as years of family secrets that they would have preferred to keep in the background came to light.

“I have been able to make mistakes, but sometimes they are made so that my children can get ahead,” said Bárbara Rey herself a few days ago, in Espejo Público, also confirming that, no matter what happened, she was not going to speak badly of her son.

The family reappeared together last June, but a few weeks ago something overtook Bárbara Rey’s first-born son, who admitted that he has suffered from depression for decades as a result of his terrible childhood.

His mother now fears that his testimony will bring consequences, as he is not prepared to deal with the media storm. “They are going to destroy it,” she said.
