José Luis Martínez-Almeida, the mayor of Madrid, and the aristocrat Teresa Urquijo are about to seal their love after just over two years of relationship. The wedding, which has brought together numerous prominent personalities, is being held in the historic Parish of the Sacred Heart and San Francisco de Borja.
From early in the morning, the expectation was palpable in the vicinity of the church, where hundreds of Madrid residents gathered to accompany the mayor on one of the most important days of his life.
Martínez-Almeida, faithful to his commitment to the citizens, has not hesitated to personally thank the affection received, sharing moments of closeness and joy with the attendees. This same mass bath has been given by King Emeritus Juan Carlos I and Isabel Díaz Ayuso, president of the Community of Madrid.
The mayor has not left any details to chance for his big day. Impeccably dressed by the Madrid tailor Fernández Prats, he has chosen a classic morning suit that has required more than 70 hours of work and that has been adorned with very personal touches.
The first detail that stands out on his suit is the miniature insignia of the mayor of Madrid, proudly placed on his lapel. This element not only highlights his position as mayor, but also symbolizes his connection and commitment to the city he represents for the second consecutive term.
In addition, the cufflinks chosen by the mayor are another element of interest in his clothing. On this special occasion, Almeida has opted for cufflinks that represent the shield of the Bar Association to, in some way, wink at his profession outside of politics.
