Cándido Conde-Pumpido Varela became the protagonist of the current affairs of the heart for the least expected reason. The son of the president of the Constitutional Court had already made headlines and talk shows after his surprising breakup with Lara Dibildos. However, the situation became unpleasant when he was arrested for an alleged group sexual assault, reported by a Brazilian woman. Now, the case has taken another turn.
According to Europa Press, the victim would have withdrawn the complaint and “waived the corresponding civil and criminal actions.” This was made known this Thursday morning by different legal sources, which have confirmed the presence of the affected person in court. The Investigating Judge number 44 of Madrid was investigating the event, an alleged assault that occurred in November in a chalet in San Blas, for which the lawyer was arrested on the 3rd.
Those responsible for the investigation stated that the images provided by the defense did not show any of the accused. In fact, they weren’t even present. The recordings simply showed several of the rooms of the chalet in question, but none of the people reported by the alleged victim were there. “Nor is there any situation similar to that described by the accused,” the resolution ruled.
“The reality is what you see with your eyes, this lady had a situation, I don’t know why she does it or what it is due to, if she has a mental problem or she does it under someone’s instructions, but everything she says is proven to be lie. The situation was beginning to be suspicious, there was an intensity of behavior in this woman that was not natural, a lot of intensity in a few days. This made him retreat a little, in fact we have WhatsApp conversations,” she expressed at the time of her defense.
These were not the only words of Conde-Pumpido’s lawyer, Ricardo Álvarez-Ossorio, who also had to deny any type of connection between his client and the judge. “She is a magistrate and what she does is her job. Obviously they know each other. What cannot be done is to say that this man has been released because she is a friend of his father,” indicated the lawyer, days before the accused was admitted to a hospital.
“We have been able to know, from sources very close to the lawyer, that he is very bad, he is very psychologically affected since everything happened last Friday. Furthermore, the media impact, the magnitude that the case has reached, has meant that he even has to receive health care,” declared a reporter from Y Ahora Sonsoles.
