Last Monday, New Yorker Lila Joy announced on social media that her sister, TikToker Eva Evans, had died unexpectedly the day before. The content creator, one of the most promising talents on TikTok, rose to fame shortly before, after Amazon Prime bought the rights to her web series, Club Rat, of which she was the author and protagonist.
“After 24 hours, I find myself in a cycle of constant denial and acceptance, so I can imagine how difficult it will be to process this news,” he wrote, for his and his sister’s followers, without revealing the cause of his death.
A few days later, however, the reason for his death became known. As TMZ has learned, the content creator took her own life. As police sources confirm to the aforementioned portal, the lifeless body of the influencer was found by one of her friends on Saturday night.
The friend in question had a key to her apartment, and he used to come in to see her. On Saturday, however, he found her inside her, already lifeless. It was he who called the emergency services, and who told the police that he had no evidence that the influencer was going through any depressive process or suffering from mental health problems.
Since the news broke, those closest to her have confessed that the influencer’s death took them completely by surprise. She is always described as a happy and self-confident girl; They did not expect that the young woman would have such a sad and tragic end.
Evans also left a handwritten note before he died. It is unknown what the note contained or to whom it was addressed.
Despite the obvious signs that the influencer took her own life, the police are keeping the investigation open. At the moment, the results of the autopsy and the toxicological examination are pending, which will further clarify the unexpected death of the young woman.
The influencer’s family is shocked. This situation far exceeds that of her sisters, Lila, Zoe and Sofi; as well as her mother, Heather Evans. The sisters’ father, artist Matt Baumgardner, also took his own life in 2018.
