Ale Barona’s life changed forever on July 6, when he was diagnosed with acute leukemia. A lover of water sports such as diving and surfing, the 24-year-old young man was beginning a new stage at that time. Far from giving up, the young man began his fight and narrated everything that was happening on his social networks.
A new adventure in which he has always remained positive, always “prepared for war.” The young Canary Islander assured that “this doesn’t bother me”, and that’s how it was, because a few hours ago he confirmed the best news: he is completely cured.
Always optimistic, positive and full of vitality even knowing the hard task that lay ahead, the young man has always been very sincere about how he was spending each moment. From his tears when he learned of the diagnosis to his promise that whatever came, “always strong.”
For this reason, his followers could not avoid being excited when the athlete confirmed through Instagram that he had received the final discharge two months ago. “I’m alive!!”, he exclaimed.
“I had kept it to myself because I felt that it was not yet the time to say it,” the canary explained on his social network account. Now, facing a new life, he knows that he has a mission: to continue raising awareness about leukemia and cancer in young people.
“Doing challenges and living a thousand adventures Sailing, flying, diving, running… LIVING in capital letters,” he says, insisting that he has “so much desire to live” that his “heart is coming out of his chest.” What’s more, these months have given him time to reflect, and he admits that he prefers “a thousand times more the Ale that I am now than the one I was before cancer”, because “I value everything much more” and knows “what really matters.”
The young Canarian cannot but feel grateful to everyone who has been by his side during all these hard months. Accompanying it with messages of encouragement, donating blood and marrow. “I will never tire of repeating it, what seems like just an act of kindness means the hope of continuing to live so that many people will never forget,” he insists, calling all of them “true heroes.”
“I will continue to give my 100% and my passion in everything I do, no matter what the obstacle,” he says. “That living continues to make our hair stand on end. Let’s get going! ”She finishes.
“Many times we see things in movies and TV series that we believe will never happen to us in our lives. Until pumm… One day comes and it’s your turn,” she began by saying on July 7 through her Instagram account.
An illness whose details the young man has shared through his social networks, from his chemotherapy treatments to what his day-to-day life has been like since the hospital. In addition, he managed to become the voice of the donations of the Canary Institute of Hemodonation (ICHH), which surpassed his record and obtained more than 300 donors in just a few days.
The young man also created his already popular podcast “School of Dreams”, in which he has discussed all types of topics to date, from how to get started in the business world to how to face death, in interview format.
From now on, Ale promises to “live to the fullest” and move forward, full of encouragement and strength. “I love you, and keep fighting.”
