Scams against different users over the phone are completely the order of the day. Therefore, it is not surprising that any slightly suspicious call puts the recipient on alert. The last to suffer it has been Carmen Borrego, as she has denounced this Tuesday in Sálvame.
The sister of Terelu Campos and a regular collaborator of the Telecinco program has stepped forward and has spoken publicly of the alleged extortion attempt that she would have been suffering for several weeks. Through her cell phone, a supposed commercial from a well-known brand asked her to confirm some purchases that she had not made, and, despite Borrego’s refusal, these would be formalized.
Defenseless, Carmen tried at all costs to avoid being charged for a purchase she had not made, before which a third person came into play. Borrego’s despair increased when he heard the astronomical figure that, supposedly, they wanted to charge him: 4,555 euros.
The solution he finally came to was to block the bank account. The collaborator even talked about it with her colleagues at one of the Sálvame meetings. However, the piece broadcast on the Mediaset program has ended up revealing that it was all a joke.
“It’s just that it’s always the same and always with the same people, and I’m already a little tired, because it’s not funny at all,” Carmen Borrego assured when listening to the account of her case. In her opinion, this joke in bad taste will cause the collaborator to not trust when “the management” of Sálvame proposes to carry out “advertising”, since she will not know if it is reliable or not.
“But if you just won 4,500 euros”, his colleagues in the program responded to him to try to downplay the matter. Jorge Javier, for his part, brought up the advertising campaign that Borrego had previously referred to and publicly asked that they pay him “for damages.”
