The doors of the most famous and romantic restaurant on the small screen reopened for another week. On Monday night, a new batch of singles showed up to First Dates with the goal of meeting someone interesting with whom they could start a beautiful love story.
Two of the stars of the night were Inés and Óscar. The 47-year-old Cantabrian single arrived at the restaurant claiming that several of her partners compared her to Bridget Jones. ”I’ve had similar experiences going skiing, with relationships, things that happen suddenly, mistakes,” she explained. She was about to marry the father of her son, but the wedding was called off a few months before the ceremony.
I wanted to meet a fun and empathetic guy. ”I have been with some ugly people, but very good and very nice. You can see an ugly person as handsome if he is fun and happy,’ he declared. His date was Óscar, a 51-year-old Cantabrian who confessed that he did not have any type of woman. ”If I had it, I would be like Inés,” Óscar assured when he met the single woman.
For her part, Inés had had a very different impression. ”She gave me the feeling that she knew him, she seemed like a very familiar face to me. “It’s too short for me,” she said. After exchanging their first words, the presenter accompanied the couple to their table, where they began the evening with many nerves and vision problems. And they both suffered from presbyopia and had left their glasses at home. So they couldn’t read the menu. ”It was a bit of a Bridget Jones moment,” she said, laughing.
Moments later, Inés confessed that she needed to find an empathetic, outgoing, active and positive person. Some characteristics that fit Oscar’s personality. ”You’re describing me, so you know,” she told him. However, her nerves were still present at dinner and that was something the single woman noticed. ”Short people have never attracted me and I think they will never attract me,” she asserted.
In the final stretch of the dinner, Inés said that she met a boy during the summer, but the relationship did not go further because she was not ready. ”I have realized that I am in love with another person. It’s not a crazy love, but I like to say “what are you doing here,” she said. For his part, Óscar revealed that Inés had met her expectations. A confession that put the single woman in a bind, since she did not dare to confess her true feelings.
In the final decision, Inés was clear with her date and confessed that she had not felt physical attraction for Óscar. However, the bachelor, true to his feelings, claimed to want a second date. But what the Cantabrian did not expect was Inés’ attack of laughter upon hearing her words. ”Don’t laugh, you can’t go out like that,” he told her. ”It’s because of the nerves, huh, I’m not getting mad at you,” she explained.
Despite her attempts, Inés couldn’t stop laughing and the program team had to repeat the take several times. ”You’re going to kill me, don’t get angry, when I have a fit of laughter, I get it,” she insisted. Finally, both managed to record the scene without interruptions and left the program separately and on different paths.
