There is no MTV Video Music Awards delivery that does not have some drama, and in 2023 it was not going to be any less. The protagonists on this occasion, the singer Megan Thee Stallion, who was preparing for her performance on stage with Cardi B – with whom she was going to present her new single, Bongos -; and the king of controversy, Justin Timberlake, who came down from that same stage after reuniting with his N’Sync colleagues a decade later.
A crossroads of professionals who have nothing to do with each other except that they are dedicated to the world of music and entertainment, but who surprised the public by discovering that perhaps they did have something more between them. Not very good, at least when seeing the singer’s reaction to Timberlake, to whom she did not hesitate to dedicate a few words and a heated reaction.
The cameras recording the activity behind the stage captured the singer finalizing the details to go out to perform, when the members of N’Sync passed by her. As can be seen in the images, it is at that moment when Timberlake says something about her and she reacts, heatedly and pointing at him while he answers her, looking at him angrily. Joey Fatone, standing behind Timberlake, also says something to him, smiling.
It could have been an argument, but according to a witness who was present at the meeting, it had nothing to do with a fight. According to what the witness told Variety, Timberlake told the singer: “Nice to meet you,” to which she responded: “No, this doesn’t count. This doesn’t count. We have to get to know each other properly.” According to this source, the meeting was “adorable” to say the least.
Why Megan Thee Stallion made that angry face seconds after the exchange of words if everything was as nice as this source tells it, only she knows. A second witness adds that the Hot Girl Summer singer “loves Justin” and she was nervous about seeing the singer for the first time, hence her reaction.
At the moment, neither of the two protagonists has commented on the matter. The only thing that was clear is that there is no type of quarrel between Justin Timberlake and his former N’Sync colleagues -Chris Kirkpatrick, JC Chasez, Lance Bass and Joey Fatone-, with whom he met on stage after more than one decade without coinciding and with whom it seems he will collaborate in the third installment of the Trolls saga, by Dreamworks..
